PV GAS visits Sao Vang CPP

Recently, a delegation from Petrovietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) paid a visited to the Sao Vang Central Processing Platform (CPP), operated by Idemitsu.

The Sao Vang CPP platform is part of the Sao Vang-Dai Nguyet gas fields project, led by Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd (Idemitsu) as the investor and PTSC (Petrovietnam Technical Services Corporation) as the main contractor, located in Blocks 05-1b and 05-1c in the Nam Con Son Basin, approximately 350 kilometers southeast of Vung Tau, at a water depth of about 120 meters.

Sao Vang CPP

The Sao Vang CPP is currently the largest CPP in Vietnam, with a jacket weighing 12,600 tons and a topside structure weighing 14,000 tons. The platform began supplying gas to PV GAS in November 2020. Annually, it produces approximately 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas, 2.8 million barrels of crude oil, and condensate. Associated gas from the Dai Hung platform, as well as gas and condensate from the Thien Ung platform, are processed at the Sao Vang CPP and transported ashore through PV GAS' Nam Con Son 2 pipeline. This helps to ensure PV GAS is in the position to supply gas for power generation and consumers in the southeastern region. The Sao Vang-Dai Nguyet gas field is also the largest source within the Nam Con Son 2 system.

 PV GAS visits CCP

Welcoming PV GAS delegation, Idemitsu’s technical team provided in-depth knowledge about the design and operation of the Sao Vang CPP, as well as its integration with other platforms in the Nam Con Son 2 system. This gave the visitors a comprehensive understanding of modern production processes, contributing to more effective operational coordination in the future between teams.

A PV GAS representative shared: “This visit has not only broadened our horizon but also served as an opportunity to strengthen the cooperative relationship between PV GAS and Idemitsu in the operation of the Nam Con Son 2 gas system. We hope to have more chances to visit the Sao Vang-Dai Nguyet cluster in the future.”

An Idemitsu representative emphasized that site visits, covering both upstream and downstream operations, were to provide valuable opportunities for both parties to exchange expertise and improve the efficiency and quality of their coordination. Idemitsu also highly appreciated the professionalism and work ethic of the PV GAS team during the visit and discussions.
