PV GAS confidently imports and trades LNG in Vietnam
With relentless efforts to perfect LNG infrastructure, PV GAS is now confident in its competence to timely and stably import and distribute LNG for power generation and economic development.
The two LNG shipments from LNG majors, Shell and QatarEnergy LNG Marketing, successfully received by Thi Vai LNG Terminal (Ba Ria – Vung Tau), along with LNG supply contracts for power generation and industrial customers, are the convincing evidences of PV GAS' capacity and potential in the LNG business, as well as the exciting first steps of the journey towards long-term, sustainable use of clean and green energy in Vietnam.
Al Jassasiya LNG vessel arrived at Thi Vai LNG Terminal
Similar to the first LNG shipment into Vietnam, the latter that arrived at Thi Vai LNG Terminal in mid-April 2024 was also given special attention by PV GAS, units within the Corporation and relevant parties. The preparations to welcome vessel were carried out with utmost seriousness and a high sense of responsibility, resulting in the entire process, from buoy ‘0’ to the vessel docking conducted with absolute safety and compliance with regulations.

Mr. Pham Thanh Quynh, Operations Leader at PV GAS Vung Tau Terminal, remarked: "The precise guidance and support from the Company as well as the Terminal Management Board have facilitated the successful preparation for receiving this vessel. The Operations team is very confident and ready to carry out the tasks but are also not allowed to be complacent and must always cross-check to ensure no mistakes occur during execution."
Mr. Duong Quoc Huy, Deputy Manager of the Terminal Management Board at PV GAS Vung Tau Terminal, stated: "All the knowledge gained from training and the experience of receiving the first vessel have been consolidated and applied for this, ensuring that coordination tasks proceed safely and meet the highest international standards for LNG vessel reception."
The first LNG vessel into Vietnam opened up new opportunities in the nation’s LNG business sector, initiating a journey towards green energy transition. This second one serves as an affirmation to PV GAS' determination, as well as the desire for an even more positive green transformation process among Vietnamese enterprises.
