CNG Viet Nam – First Entity Eligible for LNG Business in Vietnam
In May 2023, Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade licensed PV GAS to import and export LNG. Continuing its efforts to bring the LNG supply chain into reality, on August 29, 2023, CNG Viet Nam, a subsidiary of PV GAS was certified by the Department of Industry and Trade of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to conduct the LNG business in Vietnam.
Established in 2007, CNG Viet Nam is currently the largest provider of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) by lorries in the country. It holds more than 70% of the domestic market share and possesses a complete transportation and distribution infrastructure nationwide. Over 16 years of development, CNG Viet Nam has played a significant role alongside over 200 leading domestic manufacturing companies such as Hoa Phat, Ton Dong A, Vinamilk and Viglacera in bringing a green and clean future to Vietnam, realizing the use of CNG and LNG as economically efficient and environmentally friendly fuel sources.
LNG distribution lorries of CNG Viet Nam
CNG Vietnam has been a pioneer in researching and mastering LNG technology and thereby will be ready to distribute LNG from the fourth quarter of 2023. The supply of LNG is an essential direction to timely supplement the decline in domestic sources, contributing to the long-term transition from traditional fuels (such as coal and oil) to natural gas. This helps ensuring the national energy security, promoting the development of domestic industries, and, at the same time, upholding Vietnam's 'green commitment' to the world.
LNG will be distributed via: pipeline (regas LNG, to power plants, and industrial customers within the pipeline system) or distribution lorries with ISO LNG Containers (to LNG satellite stations scattered throughout the country, for customers located away from the pipeline system).

This aligns with PV GAS' specific strategies and the goals of Vietnam regarding energy security and the government's commitment to achieving 'Net Zero Emissions' by 2050, aiming for a green and sustainable future for the entire society.
