PV GAS ORGANIZES A WORKSHOP ON "LEGAL ISSUES ON CONTRACT IN PROJECT FINANCE TRANSACTION" (PROJECT FINANCE)"
Responding to Vietnam’s Law Day (November 9, 2012-November 9, 2022) and approved by leaders of Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS), its Division of Legal Affairs successfully hosted a Workshop on "Legal issues on contracts in project finance transactions (Project Finance)" in Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province.
The workshop was an opportunity for the Division of Legal Affairs, the specialized ones and relevant units at the Corporation to be trained, exchange and improve knowledge and skills in drafting and negotiating contracts in project finance transactions and the general legal affairs. Thereby they can apply appropriately and effectively to minimize risks and address legal issues that may arise during the Corporation’s production and business.
At the workshop, the delegates listened to Ms. Tran Thi Kim Lien - Head of the Division of Legal Affairs at PV GAS- presented a summary report on the implementation of the legal work at the division in last years and listened to the presentation of the speaker Nguyen Hoang Anh –Partner of ICML Advisory Law Firm (ICML Advisory), member of the Executive Committee and Head of the Legal Affairs Division at the Vietnam Bond Market Association (VBMA) on the topic of legal issues on contracts in project finance transactions (Project Finance).
The delegates also had a lively discussion and exchanged many opinions relating to the speaker's presentation on the topic of "Legal issues about contracts in project finance transactions (Project Finance)", as well as practical issues that PV GAS has experienced and is expected to carry out in the upcoming time involving projects on capital arrangement in the form of Project Finance.
Ending the workshop, Mr. Pham Dang Nam - Deputy General Director of PV GAS in charge of legal affairs said that the topic proposed by the Division of Legal Affairs was very useful and practical for activities of PV GAS in the upcoming time, especially for the development of the Son My LNG Terminal project between PV GAS and AES. In the upcoming time, the Division of Legal Affairs will need to continue to well organize training and retraining courses to develop qualifications, skills and professionalism for the staff in charge of legal affairs to improve the quality of the consultation and provision of legal advices for the Corporation's leaders, needing to coordinate more actively with relevant divisions and units to promptly make recommendations and predict legal risks in the future to address solutions properly.
