PV GAS ranked among the five businesses with market capitalization of over US$10 billion in Vietnam.
In November 2021, for the first time, the Vietnam stock market recorded five enterprises with a market capitalization of over $10 billion, including Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) (Stock code: GAS).
According to statistics from the HCM City Stock Exchange (HoSE), the market capitalization of companies listed at the floor reached more than VNĐ5.6 quadrillion (US$247.7 billion) in late October, increasing by 9.1 per cent compared to the last month and accounting for 89 per cent of the national GDP in 2020.
The entire domestic largest stock exchange had 532 listed stock codes. The total volume of listed shares reached more than 115.46 billion units. Notably, the scale of companies were also expanded when the index surpassed the peak, HoSE recorded 45 enterprises with a market capitalization of more than $1 billion, surging 15% compared to the previous month with some new names.
By the end of October, the HoSE has announced that PV GAS was in the list of 5 Vietnamese enterprises with a market capitalization of over $10 billion. The other four companies in this list were Vinhomes, Vingroup, Vietcombank, Hoa Phat Group.
The stock price has sharply surged 48% since the beginning of the year, raising PV GAS to become as the 5th largest listed company with more than $10 billion. GAS stock hit a new all-time high of VNĐ125,000 per share in October, pushing the corporation’s market cap to VNĐ238.28 trillion ($10.54 billion). GAS code has also been continuously in the top with the most positive contribution to the general index recently.
At the end of trading session in October, the VN-Index hit a new record of 1,444 points in 21 years of operation, up more than 7.6% compared to the previous month and up 30.8% against the beginning of the year.
The liquidity on Vietnam’s stock market in October regained its upward momentum with the average trading value and volume reaching more than VND 22.1 trillion and 729 million shares, respectively, up 5.9% in value and 2.7% in volume respectively compared to the previous month.
During last month, the total value and trading volume of shares reached more than VND464.9 trillion and 15.3 billion, respectively up 11.24% in value and 7.81% in volume compared to September.
