PV GAS surpasses 2024 targets
It is projected that PV GAS will exceed its production and business targets for 2024 with numerous records and historic milestones. These achievements affirms the Corporation has once again been able to navigate challenges, including a greater-than-expected decline in domestic supply and demand for gas in power generation, fierce competition from alternative energy sources, and an incomplete regulatory framework for the gas/LNG sector.
This year, PV GAS successfully imported 400 million cubic meters of LNG to power customers during the peak dry season and supported the commissioning of Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant project.
The year 2024 also witnessed imported LNG being used for power generation in Vietnam for the first time. LNG was successfully delivered to northern regions of Vietnam via rail and tank trucks by PV GAS, starting in September 2024.
These milestones showcased PV GAS’ expanded energy supply network across the country. Furthermore, the Corporation conducted its first international LNG trade deal, of over 70,000 tons, marking its entry into the global LNG market.
