PV GAS in talks with ExxonMobil, Novatek, seeking LNG opportunities
Mr. Pham Van Phong, President & CEO of PV GAS, chaired separated meetings with Novatek (Russia) and ExxonMobil (USA) to explore business opportunities in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector. Assisting the CEO were Mr. Huynh Quang Hai - Vice President and managers from the company’s divisions and units.
Meeting with Novatek (Russia)
Novatek delegates, led by the Director of Business Development and Head of M&A, Ms. Elena Golm, along with seniors from commercial and LNG investment sectors, expressed their will to cooperate with PV GAS in the marketing of LNG in the 2023 – 2026 period. Throughout the session, PV GAS and Novatek were actively updating their development progress and discussing potential LNG power projects in Vietnam.

Later on, PV GAS separately welcomed Ms. Marion Powell-Wust - Business Development Executive, ExxonMobil LNG Market Development in Asia to discuss cooperation opportunities regarding LNG supply for Thi Vai LNG Terminal in the commercial operation phase and investment potentials in upstream projects in Vietnam.
Meeting with ExxonMobil (USA)
On July 10, 2023, PV GAS will receive the first LNG cargo at Thi Vai LNG Terminal, marking a historic milestone for the Vietnamese energy industry, especially in the summer peaks of power demand. As PV GAS seeks to secure long-term supplies for domestic power plants, promoting trade and investment cooperation with oil and gas majors such as ExxonMobil and Novatek is crucial for the development of PV GAS as well as Vietnamese energy industry.
