PV GAS boosts the international relationships in gas value chain
During the business trip in Tokyo, PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (hereinafter “PV Gas”) had important activities with Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “TG”), Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (hereinafter “METI”) and attended the 21st International LP Gas Seminar.
On 4th March 2016, at TG’s headquarter office in Tokyo, TG and PV Gas signed an agreement to extend the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Comprehensive Cooperative Relationship on the Development of LNG value chain in Vietnam. The MOU extension agreement was signed by Mr. Michiaki Hirose – President of TG and Mr. Duong Manh Son – President and CEO of PV Gas, under the witness of senior representatives from both companies.
The extended MOU reaffirms the wishes of both companies to achieve the objective of developing LNG value chain in Vietnam. Besides, TG and PV Gas agree to jointly facilitate and promote international investments in upstream assets in compliance with both parties’ respective business scopes and company strategies.
Taking this opportunity, Mr. Duong Manh Son and Mr. Michiaki Hirose visited METI and had meetings with Mr. Satoshi Kusakabe – Commissioner, Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, Mr. Tatsuya Terazawa – Director - General, Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau and Mr. Takeshi Yasuraoka – Director, Trade Insurance Division of METI to update the progress that both companies had been working on, enhancing the mutual relationship and understanding of both sides. Also in this context, the co-generation technology which is under study to apply for Long Thanh International Airport Project was mentioned with the view to finding the optimum for execution in the future.

During 03rd – 04th March 2016, PV Gas’ delegation attended the 21st International LP Gas Seminar under the theme of “The Growing LPG Global Market: Renaissance and Future Challenges”. At the LP Gas Seminar, PV Gas had meeting with shale gas mid-streamers, Middle East gas producers and Asian big traders.
