PV GAS awards 500 scholarships to poor students with outstanding academic performance in Ca Mau Province
Among social welfare activities in this year to support and encourage poor students and those near poverty line, who have excellent academic performance, Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) awarded 500 scholarships worth VND1 billion (VND2 million each) after Vietnam Fatherland Front in Mekong Delta Province of Ca Mau had called on.
The scholarship awards ceremony was held at the Hall of Ca Mau city People's Committee with the participation of 100 excellent students from the districts: U Minh, Tran Van Thoi, Dam Doi, Cai Nuoc, Thoi Binh and Ca Mau city, representing 500 students who got the scholarship.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Phan Mong Thanh - Vice Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front in Ca Mau Province- said that authorities and relevant agencies at the province’s levels have carefully reviewed, examined, and selected candidates for getting 500 scholarships. These students all had made efforts to achieve many good academic results at their school. Scholarships presentation to these students was recognition of their efforts and their families, and encouraged them and the province’s other students to strive to overcome difficulties.
The province’s leaders and people would like to express their deep thanks to PV GAS and said that this was a very meaningful gift to help the students have conditions to continue going to school, and to encourage them to keep studying well and to be worthy in getting scholarships from the sponsors.
On behalf of Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation, Mr. Nguyen Nhat Quoc Toan - Deputy Director of PetroVietnam Gas Ca Mau Company said: In the upcoming time, besides the production and business tasks, contribution to the local budget, PV GAS / PV GAS CAMAU continues collaborating with the province to carry out social welfare activities which contribute to the latter’s construction and development. At the same time, he also encouraged the students to constantly make efforts, to have good dreams and ambitions, to try their best to become helpful people for their families and to contribute to the province’s development in future.
