PV GAS and Hanoi University of Science and Technology sign a cooperative agreement to carry out a scientific research project
Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) and Hanoi University of Science and Technology have jointly held the signing ceremony of cooperative agreement to carry out a scientific research project of “Study and proposal of solutions to pivot and improve steel pipe production lines at PV Pipe to manufacture new products”.
On January 10, 2023, right on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) cooperated with Osaka University (OU) to organize a successful event of establishing "Research Center for Welding Technology and Joint Materials" under the School of Mechanics - Hanoi University of Science and Technology (SME).
On this occasion, PV GAS and SME signed an agreement between the two parties to cooperate in implementation of the scientific research project of ““Study and proposal of solutions to pivot and improve steel pipe production lines at PV Pipe to produce new products”.
Petrovietnam Steel Pipe Joint Stock Company (PV Pipe) is an arm of PV GAS. Since its establishment in 2010, PV Pipe has gradually achieved its goal of becoming as a leading steel pipe manufacturer for the oil and gas industry, contributing to the development of Vietnam's industry. PV Pipe's Petroleum Steel Pipe Manufacturing Plant in Soai Rap Petroleum Service Industrial Zone - Tien Giang Province has an initial design capacity of 100,000 tons/year/shift.
The main content of the Cooperative Agreement is to take advantage of the existing infrastructure, to upgrade and add equipment in PV Pipe production line to manufacture structural pipe products and to supply them for offshore wind projects. This is a new direction to expand the market, increase capacity and help improve the operational efficiency of PV Pipe.
The signing ceremony was solemnly held at C2 Hall of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, in the presence of representatives of the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnam Mechanical Association, Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Osaka University.
