Chairman of Petrovietnam’s BOM, Le Manh Hung urges PV GAS to increase Thi Vai LNG Terminal’s capacity to 3 MTPA

On the first day of the new year, a delegation from the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam), led by Chairman of the Board of Members (BOM) Le Manh Hung, visited PV GAS at PV GAS Vung Tau Processing Company (PV GAS VUNG TAU). During the meeting, Chairman Le Manh Hung emphasized the urgent task for 2025: accelerating the progress to increase the capacity of Thi Vai LNG Terminal to 3 MTPA to ensure sustainable development.

Low-emission hydrogen (H2) is considered a key factor for a carbon-neutral economy. PV GAS is a pioneer in research and development (R&D) as well as in promoting the production and use of low-emission H2 in Vietnam. On the occasion of welcoming the new year 2025, Dr. Pham Van Phong, CEO & President of PV GAS, recently had an interview with journalists about the role of the Corporation in providing clean energy for the country's socio-economic development. 

PV GAS surpasses 2024 targets

It is projected that PV GAS will exceed its production and business targets for 2024 with numerous records and historic milestones. These achievements affirms the Corporation has once again been able to navigate challenges, including a greater-than-expected decline in domestic supply and demand for gas in power generation, fierce competition from alternative energy sources, and an incomplete regulatory framework for the gas/LNG sector.

PV GAS proactively implements green development orientation – Co-chairing the Workshop “Vietnam Australia Hydrogen Workshop – H2 Mobility & Decentralized System ”

On December 9, 2024, at the headquarters of the Petro Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) in Ho Chi Minh City, PV GAS coordinated with the Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) and Pure Hydrogen Company to organize a workshop with the theme " Vietnam Australia Hydrogen Workshop - H2 Mobility & Decentralised System". The content of the workshop focused on the development of hydrogen for mobility and decentralized hydrogen production and supply systems. The workshop also opened up cooperation opportunities between Vietnamese and Australian enterprises, including PV GAS and other subsidiaries of the Petro Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam).
