Petrovietnam/PV GAS launches the Community Education and Culture Centre at Vu Ban District’s Hop Hung Commune in Nam Dinh Province

As part of the social welfare program carried out by the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) and the Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS), leaders of Petrovietnam and PV GAS on May 14 co-operated with the authorities and people of Vu Ban District’s Hop Hung Commune in Nam Dinh Province to organize a launching ceremony of Community Education and Culture Centre, which was funded by PV GAS.

The centre was built with a total settlement value of more than VND5.3 billion; including the construction cost of VND4 billion from PV GAS and the rest from localities, organizations and individuals. It covers a total area of 760 m2 including one main hall and two functional rooms. Built since the end of 2020, the construction was completed on schedule for readiness into use in spite of facing difficulties during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Community Education and Culture Centre in the Hop Hung Commune will become the heart for the organization of social activities, socio-cultural events as well as exchanges with localities, social security and charity events for local residents. Teachers and students at the commune can also use the centre to organize festivals, sport and educational activities that need a beautiful space.

On behalf of the sponsor, Mr. Do Dong Nguyen - Independent member of PV GAS Board of Directors congratulated Hop Hung Commune’s people on the new public cultural centre to serve their lives. Mr. Do Dong Nguyen shared that besides production and business, PV GAS was very interested and actively carried out social welfare programs with an average budget of VND100 billion per year. During more than 30 years of construction and development, PV GAS has donated to the construction of 250 schools, more than 100 hospitals/health facilities, and nearly 2,000 gratitude and solidarity houses. Especially, during the COVID-19 outbreaks’ complex evolution, PV GAS was one of the businesses which had actively and effectively donated to many pandemic preventive and control programs throughout the country.
