PV GAS meets Thailand’s Siam Cement Group Chemicals to expand customers portfolio
On Friday (02/6/2023), delegates from Siam Cement Group Chemicals Group (SCGC) led by Mr. Mongkol Hengrojanasophon - Executive Vice President & COO and Mr. Kulachet Dharachandra - CFO paid a visit to PV GAS’ headquarter for discussions regarding the supply of gas for the Southern Petrochemical Complex. Mr. Pham Van Phong, President & CEO at PV GAS, chaired the meeting.
Thailand’s SCGC is the world's leading petrochemical entity and the parent company of Long Son Petrochemicals Co., Ltd - which owns and operates the Southern Petrochemical Complex (SPC) in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, expected to come online in July 2023 with the raw materials demand up to 1.6 million tons of gas products per year.
PV GAS, entrusted by the Government and PVN to pioneer the gas industry’s development, is establishing the cooperation with SCGC to supply ethane, propane and condensate/naphtha,... for the Southern Petrochemical Complex.
At the meeting, SCGC received updates on PV GAS’ project of separating ethane (SPC’s raw material) from natural gas which is waiting for investment approval from local authorities after having its Pre-Feasibility Study Report completed. The two also discussed the Complex’s ability to consume propane and condensate from domestic sources (gas fields, refineries) and international imports.
Mr. Mongkol Hengrojanasophon expressed his appreciation for PV GAS’ efforts and support during the commissioning of the Southern Petrochemical Complex and in the cooperation between SCGC and PV GAS relating to the supply of raw materials for the Complex. Thai delegates vowed to strengthen improve the effectiveness in their business relationship between two companies. In his response, Mr. Phong confirmed PV GAS’ political duty and commitment to closely coordinate and fully support the commissioning and commercial operation of the Long Son Petrochemicals’ Complex. PV GAS’ CEO also affirmed his entity’s position and sufficient resources would be utilized to supply sustainable, high-quality products to customers.
Ending the meeting, the leaders agreed to carry out their comprehensive cooperation in the process of arranging input materials for the Southern Petrochemical Complex, and further enhance their collaboration in various sectors to fit the potential and demand of each party.
