PetroVietnam Gas Corporation summarizes Safety – Health – Environment tasks in 2013
In the atmosphere full of excitement and pride of employees for impressive achievement of business plan targets in 2013 and determination to maintaining growth in 2014, PetroVietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) held the Conference on Safety – Health – Environment 2013 on 28/2/2014. The Conference is aimed at assessing results as well as existing problems, causes and experiences in order to propose targets and orientation for Safety – Health – Environment tasks in the coming time, eliminating risks of security and safety in PV GAS’ activities. The Conference was also an opportunity for PV GAS’ member companies and related companies of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group to exchange and share experiences on safety – health – environment tasks.
The gas industry has been identified as the key economic sector in industrialization – modernization of the country. However, it also poses potential risks of fire and explosion, great impact upon ecology and environment. Thus, safety – health – environment tasks are top priorities of PV GAS and vital concerns of the gas industry. From the date of establishment, PV GAS is always proud to be leader in Safety – Health – Environment, which helps ensure business efficiency, remarkably contributing to outstanding development of PV GAS in particular and Vietnam National Gas and Oil Group in general.
In 2013, with the close direction and support of Party Committee, BOM and BOD of PV GAS together with effort of all personnel, PV GAS has well implemented Safety – Health – Environment tasks, ensuring safety of gas facilities, maintaining constant - safe and efficient operations of PV GAS.
This regular Conference was the opportunity for PV GAS, 100%-owned companies and member companies to summarize achievements, exchange experience, publicize information, practical lessons learned from implementation processes of Safety – Health – Environment tasks. At the Conference, the delegates listened to PV GAS’ Summary Report on safety, health and environment tasks in 2013, including issues on training, risk control, inspection, testing, emergency response, repair and maintenance, health care for employees, environment protection, etc. The Report also highlighted achievements and existing limitations, and proposed the main orientation for the coming time.
To further support and complete this Report, the Conference also had a speech referring to many practical issues, pointing out requests and proposals to implement Safety – Health – Environment tasks more strongly and efficiently. Leaders and delegates also enthusiastically participated in discussion, questions and answers in a wide range of issues in order to promote Safety – Health – Environment tasks, such as ensuring safety of gas work systems; life care for employees; launching communication tasks for protecting pipeline security and safety, incidents and experience lessons, safety in gas business, social security… The Conference became more interesting with interval video clips introducing activities of ensuring gas work safety, summarizing oil and gas incidents in Vietnam in an effort to provide serious warning about Safety – Health – Environment tasks.
In closing the Conference, Mr. Do Khang Ninh, PV Gas President & CEO affirmed: Safety – Health – Environment tasks of PV Gas have been maintained regularly, efficiently and constantly improved. Technical incidents have been reduced over time and fully recorded and closely monitored. Most importantly, in the course of nearly 25 years in operation, there was no unfortunate incidents throughout PV Gas, all activities have taken place with safe conditions, thrift practice, creativity promotion, constant and sustainable development. This is the biggest recognized success of PV GAS.
On behalf of PV GAS leadership, Mr. Do Khang Ninh was honored to welcome directives from representatives of Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, distinguished guests and constructive opinions of other delegates at Conference. After this Conference, PV GAS would prepare plans on assignment and thorough handling of recommendations and proposals put forward at this Conference. In the coming time, beside operating 3 gas pipeline systems of Cuu Long, NCS and PM3 Ca Mau, PV GAS continues developing gas collection, transportation and LNG gas import projects… widening the management scope. That requires PV GAS to strengthen solutions of risk control, safety hazards in activities. Through the Conference agenda, PV GAS has summarized many proposals, orienting the implementation of practical Safety – Health – Environment tasks, closely following the business plan, reflecting the consensus and solidarity in protecting Oil and Gas cause, contributing to ensuring national energy and food security. Moreover, PV GAS also calls on all personnel: Consider the motto “Safety – Quality – Efficiency” as the principle throughout PV GAS’ development, determine to do better security, safety, health and environment tasks in the coming time.
To praise, encourage, acknowledge achievements of exemplary units and individuals with great contribution to Safety – Health – Environment movement, PV Gas has awarded Merit certificates to 23 individuals and 11 teams for their excellent achievements in Safety – Health – Environment tasks; awarding Merit certificates to 1 unit and an individual for making the Safety – Health – Environment film.
As part of the Conference, relationship activities took place to strengthen solidarity and experience exchange among units.
