PV GAS Vung Tau Processing Company Active in Safety Training Observation Program
Safety Training Observation Program (STOP) is one of the activities aimed at maintaining safety at work of PV GAS Vung Tau Processing Company (KVT). In 2023’s H1, the company recorded a total of 4,779 STOP cards – an increase of 23.4% compared to the same period in 2022.
GPP awarded for the highest team performance
The program has been organized and maintained at KVT since 2003, encouraging employees to identify, detect, and prevent risks at the workplace, contributing to ensuring safety for gas facilities, as well as acting as a foundation/guideline for innovative initiatives to streamline the business production process. Especially within the two direct production units: Dinh Co Gas Processing Plant (GPP) and the PV GAS Vung Tau Terminal (KCTV), any potential hazard identified, even if it hasn't caused actual harm, is highly suggested to be recorded on a STOP card.
Individuals and teams received awards for their excellence in participating the STOP program
At the beginning, the number of participants in the STOP Program was limited, with only 6 -7 individuals and around 20 STOP cards per month. Therefore, to attract more participation, KVT initiated a competitive movement with quarterly awards for individuals and units with a high quantity and quality of STOP cards. Every 6 months, KVT awards a rotating cup to the unit with the most recorded cards. If a unit wins the cup three times in a row, they receive a permanent trophy.
The STOP program has always been highly praised for it has motivated employees to have high awareness of securing safety at work
In July, KVT’s Board of Directors, along with Health – Safety – Environment Division, and representatives from GPP and KCTV, presented awards to outstanding teams and individuals. Specifically, GPP achieved the highest team performance with 2,005 recorded STOP cards. The awards for excellent teams went to LPG 01 operations team - KCTV (552 cards), LNG 01 operations team - KCTV (161 cards), and Operations Team 04 - GPP (376 cards). Additionally, there were 9 outstanding individuals who achieved high results and received awards in Q2/2023.
The STOP program has always been highly praised as it has motivated and encouraged numerous employees and teams to participate. Currently, over 80% of KVT's employees are engaged in the program, resulting in thousands of cards each year. Particularly, alongside the STOP movement, safety awareness among employees has undergone noticeable changes, with a deep integration of safety culture into each individual. This is evident in group tasks and a reduction in accidents caused by human, contributing to the successful implementation of PV GAS's safety policies.
