PV GAS successfully transports LNG from Southern to Northern Vietnam by rail in face of Super Typhoon Yagi
As the leading enterprise in Vietnam’s gas industry, Petrovietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) is fully engaged in a crucial mission: ensuring a stable supply of gas products for industrials and households while helping to address the aftermath of Super Typhoon Yagi in Northern Vietnam.
In the face of Typhoon Yagi, PV GAS has been focusing on restarting the stable supply of gas products in Northern Vietnam. Specifically, the Corporation has continued to safely operate the Ham Rong-Thai Binh gas system to provide low-pressure gas and CNG. LPG is supplied from Thai Binh and Hai Phong, with a daily output of around 2,000 - 3,000 tons. In the coming days, as industrial production and household demand recover, PV GAS will ensure continuous distribution with competitive pricing from both domestic and imported sources.
Greeting the first LNG train at Dong Anh Station (Hanoi)
On September 9, 2024, at 18:00, a train carrying 16 ISO tanks of LNG completed its 1,700 km journey from Southern to Northern Vietnam with absolute safety on schedule at Dong Anh Station (Hanoi). Here, LNG was transferred to specialized lorries to industrial consumers. The successful initiation of South-North LNG transport marks a new chapter for the gas industry and the rail transport sector in Vietnam and has upgraded PV GAS' LNG supply chain as well as completed the national energy map, laying a crucial foundation for the Corporation to better meet diverse market needs.
The journey to carry LNG to Northern Vietnam
LNG first arrived in Vietnam in July 2023 at PV GAS Vung Tau Terminal and was promptly supplied to EVN and industrial consumers in the Southeastern region. Recognizing its leadership role in Vietnam’s gas industry and with the active support of Vietnam Railways (VNR), PV GAS successfully transported the first LNG train to Northern Vietnam. This illustrated the Corporation's commitment to providing diverse products (LPG, CNG, and LNG,…) competitively and stably, supporting customers in business recovery, and ensuring safety in using PV GAS’ energy solutions.
Congratulations on PV GAS’ Integrated Business Model
By maintaining a stable energy supply during disaster recovery and optimizing the national transport infrastructure with ISO tank LNG transport by railway, PV GAS, along with its parent company Petrovietnam, continues to assert its role as a leader in the competitive energy market and the gas industry. The Corporation is committed to the comprehensive development of clean and sustainable energy sources.
