PV GAS to boost communication for pipeline corridors’ security and safety
Communication for the security and safety of pipelines has always been a matter of concern and continuously implemented by PV GAS’ units and members in recent years to raise the awareness for the people, especially fishermen, and businesses operating at sea.
PV GAS Ca Mau (KCM) to organize communication activities in the SouthWest
In accordance with the Regulation to ensure the security and safety of underwater pipelines of PV GAS in collaboration with Border Guards of the 6 Mekong provinces, KCM organized communication programs in Tra Vinh, Ben Tre, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau, and Kien Giang. In the early months of 2023, KCM directly coordinated with border guard stations and Fisheries Sub-Departments to successfully conduct 12 sessions targeting business owners, ship masters, and chief engineers of large-capacity vessels regularly operating at sea, with the total number of participants was 720 people.

Currently, KCM is managing and operating PM3-Ca Mau Pipeline, which spans a length of 298 km from the commercial overlapping zone between Malaysia and Vietnam, transporting gas to Ca Mau Gas Processing Plant (with a daily capacity of 600 tons of LPG and 35 tons of Condensate). This energy source supports the power generation for the two Ca Mau Thermal Power Plants (with a capacity of 1,500 MW per annum) and Ca Mau Gas-Power-Fertilizer Complex (with a capacity of 800,000 tons per annum).
That the pipeline is laid on the seabed poses safety risks and danger of explosions if impacted by external forces such as anchor points and heavy fishing gears. Therefore, the sessions were focused on the coordinates of the pipeline and safety regulations for corridors (no anchoring allowed within a 2-nmi range from each side of the pipeline's outer edge). Additionally, means of communication for reporting any suspicious incidents related to the pipeline were also provided.

Moreover, KCM, with the support from People's Committee of Khanh An Commune, U Minh District, and relevant departments of Ca Mau Police, met more than 140 residents, and businesses near GPP Ca Mau and along the corridor on the shore. They desired the entire population as well as local authorities to continue accompanying and supporting the efforts in safeguarding pipeline corridors, contributing to energy and food security.
Communication for safety of pipeline in South Central Coast
PV GAS South East Transmission Company (KDN) and PV GAS Nam Con Son Pipeline Company (NCSP), in collaboration with Borderlands Security, held communication conferences about protecting the security and safety of offshore pipeline system in 10 coastal provinces in the South Central region, starting from Quang Nam. This initiative was aimed at implementing the coordination regulations between the Border Guard Command and PVN in the mission to safeguard petroleum activities and national sovereignty, and ensure social safety in maritime border areas.

Under this effort, Border Guards, KDN, and NCSP would together encourage fishermen to refrain from anchoring, fishing, aquaculture, salvage operations, and blasting operations within the safety corridor area of offshore petroleum facilities. In addition, the three would promote the dissemination of Government Decree 03 dated January 7, 2002, regarding the protection of petroleum security and safety, and Government Decree 99 dated August 26, 2020, which specifies administrative penalties in the petroleum and fuel and gas trading sectors.
Throughout the campaign, the collaborating units were also reaching out to each locality, urging ship masters and sea vehicle owners to install the coordinates of the pipeline system into their positioning systems to locate it at sea. This step would contribute to raising fishermen's awareness about their responsibilities in upholding sovereignty and offshore petroleum facilities.

Nhon Trach Low Pressure Gas Distribution Enterprise (XNNT) to host seminar in Phuoc An Commune: "Communication for Security and Safety of Low-Pressure Pipeline Corridor in Phuoc An Commune 2023"
The activities of communication for the security and safety of low-pressure gas pipeline corridors is carried out regularly on an annual basis for updating information related to the low-pressure gas distribution system, disseminating regulations regarding the safety of onshore petroleum facilities and administrative penalties in the petroleum, and fuel and gas trading sectors. This year, XNNT hosted a seminar focusing on what could impact a pipeline corridor and educating residents about prohibited actions within the said area.

Through the event, XNNT also gathered input and contributions from participants to evaluate the results of maintaining the security and safety of the low-pressure pipeline corridor carried out by the company in collaboration with the local government and Phuoc An Commune Police.
Representatives from Nhon Trach District Police and Phuoc An Commune People's Committee highly appreciated the communication efforts of XNNT and acknowledged this as a meaningful regular activity in terms of dissemination and enhancement of cooperation among relevant parties and the residents. This helped ensure the safety of petroleum facilities in particular and the local area in general, playing a crucial role in maintaining stable production in the region.
