PV GAS co-operates with Ca Mau Province’s authorities to build civil works
The Trade Union of Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) has coordinated to hold the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction on a bridge crossing Lung Say canal at Tan Hiep Loi hamlet, Tan Duc commune, Dam Doi district, Ca Mau Province. This is a part of the programs to welcome the all-level Trade Union Congresses toward the 4th Congress of PV GAS Trade Union.
Lung Say canal in Tan Hiep Loi hamlet, Tan Duc commune is the waterway leading to Lung Say primary school, and nearly 80 households and students live alongside here. The current situation on both sides of the canal has a 1.5m-wide concrete road, but traveling through this area mainly by boats, canoes or degraded "monkey" bridges, which are slender bamboo passways.
Responding to the call for sponsorship of the People's Committee in Dam Doi district to ask for funding the construction on the bridge, PV GAS Trade Union and its affiliated grassroots trade unions including the one of the Petrovietnam Gas Projects Management Company and the other of Petrovietnam Gas Ca Mau Company have agreed to build this civil work. It is expected that the Lung Say canal-crossing bridge (also known as Ba canal-crossing bridge) will be built within 3 months, with the length of 36m, and the width of 3m, and totally costing VND450 million. With the new bridge, local people and students will be provided with convenient and safe traffic conditions, contributing to the development of life, and teaching and learning promotion.
Representative of the sponsors, Mr. Tran Xuan Thanh, expressed his affection for sharing difficulties with local people and authorities. He also said that Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation was one of the key units at the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, which has made many positive contributions to social welfare, especially in Ca Mau Province, where the country’s South Pole Gas work is located. PV GAS social welfare works are all practical contributions to the community, upholding the spirit of Petrovietnam and PV GAS Culture.
Mr. Le Quoc Doan, Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the People's Committee in Tan Duc Commune, on behalf of the people and local authorities, expressed his gratitude and hoped to have a reinforced concrete bridge soon for people to get convenience in travelling.
