The seminar took place on November 9th, 2023, at PV GAS Vung Tau Terminal, with the attendance of about 30 senior journalists from various press agencies across the country.

On October 29, 2023, at Cai Mep Industrial Park, Phu My Town, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, PetroVietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) held a ceremony to inaugurate the 1 MMTPA Thi Vai LNG Terminal. Politburo member, Prime Minister H.E. Pham Minh Chinh sent a bouquet of flowers as a token of his congratulations on PV GAS’ historic milestone. At the ceremony, Member of the Central Party Committee, Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Tran Luu Quang delivered guidance speech and joined the Ribbon-cutting Ceremony.

General Manager of PV GAS Trading Company (PV GAS TRADING), Mr. Nguyen Phuc Tue, shared as of October 2023, the company had met all production and business targets for 2023 ahead of schedule, signaling a year of exceeding assigned tasks and setting a new business record.

Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) has been known since the late 19th century. Today, it has become a key player in the new energy trend. Vietnam is also one of the prominent countries in the global LNG market.

After more than 3 years of construction, the 1 MMPTA Thi Vai LNG Terminal moved on to the commissioning phase before going online. This was the final key determining the success of the project. In this period, the reception of the first historic LNG vessel into Vietnam was one of the greatest prides of Petrovietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS).

Thi Vai LNG Terminal stands as a technological masterpiece in Vietnam’s gas industry. Not only is it the largest and most modern LNG complex in the country but also a clear testament of PV GAS to ushering in a new era of Vietnam’s energy journey.

On the eve of the Inauguration of a National Key Project – Thi Vai LNG Terminal, those involved in the project from the very beginning couldn't help but be moved by a mix of emotions as there is so much joy, happiness, and pride.

In recent days, global energy experts have acknowledged Vietnam's emergence as a “newcomer” in the global LNG market, in the face predictions and concerns about price barriers and the ability to secure long-term contracts.

For over three decades, PV GAS has maintained its leading position in Vietnam's gas industry, as the flagship of PVN. However, its journey toward green energy has been a long and challenging one, beginning with the idea of importing LNG first conceived in 2007. Over 16 years, PV GAS has not only endeavored to ensure national energy security but has also been passionately committed to the energy transition. In the near future, PV GAS will inaugurate Vietnam's first and largest LNG terminal, affirming LNG will seamlessly integrate into PV GAS' value chains.
