The new spring is coming back to our beloved Vietnam. We are all happy to celebrate the New Year 2013, welcoming achievements of our country, of the oil and gas industry within 30 years of innovation and development, carrying out the wish of Great Uncle Ho. On behalf of PetroVietnam Gas Stock Corporation, I would like to wish you all with good health, joy, happiness and prosperity in the New Year of Snake.

Tet is the occasion to spend time with family and welcome the peaceful and cheerful days of the New Year. However, not everyone truly has days off. For employees “on duty” in the operation system of PV Gas gas facilities, ensuring safe and uninterrupted gas flow and gas products quality are the top priorities. Thus, a lot of PV Gas leaders and employees still maintained their routine tasks on duty during Tet holidays. The New Year also brought them distinctive funs.

According to statistics and general warning, during year-end months, the dry season, Lunar New Year days are usually high time for fires, labor accidents due to electric shorts, negligence, failure to abide by regulations on fire protection …. resulting in unanticipated damage to human and property. To prevent, minimize accident risks, ensure security and safety in operations of PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) and maintain some key tasks in fire protection, rescure, salvage as directed by the Prime Minister, Ba Ria – Vung Tau People Committee and PetroVietnam on boosting fire protection activities during the dry season and Lunar New Year of 2013, PV Gas has promptly asked its member companies to implement these activities, especially to prevent damages to human and property.

After 15 years since the first gas flow was brought onshore, Gas Processing Company with PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation has processed and supplied over 19.5 billion m3 of dry gas, more than 4 million tons of LPG and 1.38 million tons of Condensate; providing fuels and feedstock for production of approximately 10% national power output, 30% fertilizer output, 10% gasoline output and meeting 30% LPG demand for industrial and household consumption of the country.

In a joyful and exciting atmosphere of celebrating the excellent performance of production and business plan in 2012, welcoming New Year 2013, PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation along with its partners organized the project groundbreaking ceremony “Gas gathering & distribution system of Ham Rong and Thai Binh fields, blocks 102 & 106, phase 1”

PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PETROVIETNAM GAS - PV Gas) is one of the major companies – a member of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN), playing the leading role in the gas industry of Vietnam. PV Gas engages in gathering, transporting, storing, processing, distributing and trading of gas products.

PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation organized the “Laborer Conference – Summary of production and business operations in 2012 and deployment of plans in 2013” on December 18th, 2012 in Ho Chi Minh City. This is the first Laborer Conference of the year in the whole Vietnam Oil and Gas industry.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, and representatives of business cooperation partners in Nam Con Son Gas Pipelines (NCSP) consisting of Mr. Manapov Timur, Chief of Mining Technology Department of TNK Vietnam B.V, Mr. Hoang Minh Duc - Deputy Director of Nam Con Son Pipelines Company, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Lien - Member of Executive Board of PV Gas Trade Union, Ms. Nguyen Thi My Khanh - Administrative staff and Public Relations of ConocoPhillips (UK) Cuulong Ltd. (an affiliate of Perenco) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Duong Chi - External Advisor of Nam Con Son Pipelines Company.

Corporate culture is an intangible asset, playing a very important role in each enterprise’s assets. Stimultaneously, the enterprise can create and increase its prestige on the market through building and developing a strong culture.

PV Gas Trade Union Congress is an important, large-scale and regular conference of PV Gas Trade Union, held in accordance with principles, rules and protocol, in order to discuss and make decisions on important issues. The Congress is also the democratic political activity for Trade Union officers and members to review, discuss and evaluate their trade union activities at all levels in the last tenure, from which, determining orientations and tasks for the next tenure. Also the Congress unifies the will and actions, ensuring good performance of tasks set by the Congress.

The Meeting was presided over by Mrs. Nguyen Thi Lan, Chairwoman of PV Gas’ Board of Directors and Mr. Do Khang Ninh, Member of the Board of Directors, PV Gas’ President and CEO. Attendees of the meeting included members of the Board of Directors, the Board of Management and the Board of Controllers; 39 shareholders and shareholder representatives, holding 1,866,525,910 shares representing 98.5% total shares with voting rights of PV Gas.

With the general topic of "Promoting the role of gas as a clean energy source, updating gas projects, challenges and opportunities", Gasex 2012 held many conferences and workshops related to the oil and gas sector, especially forums for exchange of information on exploration, production, transportation, gas processing and trading. Mr Nguyen Thanh Binh, Head of PV Gas’ Gas Import and Development Division, made a speech on LNG import projects in Vietnam. The Vietnamese delegation including Mr Ngo Anh Hien - Deputy Head of PVN’s Gas Division presented PVN’s report as a Gasex member.
