Firefighter drill at Dinh Vu LPG Terminal, Hai Phong
On December 3, 2024, Hai Phong City Police, in collaboration with PV GAS HAI PHONG conducted a city-level firefighter drill at Dinh Vu LPG Terminal, located in the Dinh Vu Industrial Zone, Hai An District, Hai Phong.
Dinh Vu LPG Terminal spans over 10,000 square meters, with a storage capacity of approximately 4,500 tons of LPG across three spherical tanks. The terminal serves as a critical facility for PV GAS/PV GAS HAI PHONG to manage imports and exports, balance supply and demand, and ensure energy security for northern Vietnam and the entire country.

The hypothetical scenario involved a fire at the LPG storage tank TK-103 within the terminal premises, with injuries sustained by several on-site workers.
Coordinators at the drill
On receipt of the emergency announcement, Hai Phong City Police's firefighter team promptly mobilized 180 members along with 23 vehicles and specialized modern equipment. 8-kilometer-long fire hoses were laid, utilizing water from hydrants and firefighting reservoirs within the industrial zone. These efforts focused on extinguishing the fire, cooling adjacent areas, and preventing the blaze from spreading.
With urgency and determination, the team successfully rescued three injured victims trapped in the fire zone, evacuated tons of assets, equipment, and goods, and fully extinguished the fire. All assets and goods at the terminal and nearby facilities were safeguarded.
The drill was carried out successfully
The drill brought together a large and unified force to develop measures to enhance fire prevention and fighting capabilities. It also strengthened coordination among PV GAS HAI PHONG, businesses within Dinh Vu Industrial Zone, and local authorities, as well as served to raise awareness of firefighting and ensuring public safety among the city.
