Nam Con Son Gas Pipeline Company has grown over 20 years
Nam Con Son Gas Pipeline Company on December 11 (NCSP) organised a ceremony to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
NCSP was established on December 15, 2000, between Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation (now Vietnam Oil and Gas Group) and two major oil and gas groups in the world including BP (UK) and Statoil (Norway).
NCSP currently is a joint venture between Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS), Rosneft Pipelines Vietnam and Perenco Vietnam AS. Among them, PV GAS is the project’s operator. The joint venture is responsible for the design, construction and operation of a 400-km pipeline system, gas treatment plant, valve station to transport and process gas and condensate from lots of 06.1 and 11.2 and other ones from the Nam Con Son rift basin to supply to power plants and fertilizer factories in provinces of Ba Ria-Vung Tai and Dong Nai.
Over 20 years of establishment and development, the project always has ensured safety and does not have any serious accidents happened to people, the environment and property. Operational reliability of the whole NCSP system reached 99.96 per cent. As of now, NCSP has received, treated, transported and safely and sustainably supplied nearly 100 billion cubic metres of gas and 23 million of condensate barrels. There especially has been a time when the project’s gas has contributed to nearly 40 per cent of the country's total power output. Through seven times of being increased capacity and invested to expand the plant, the system’s capacity has increased from 10 to 22 million cubic metres per day, meeting the increasing demand of gas consumption. Besides the important contributions to Viet Nam's gas industry, NCSP every year spends nearly VND1 billion on social welfare programs.
On behalf of foreign investors, Mr. Mervyn Goddings - Chairman and General Director of Rosneft Pipelines Vietnam Company- affirmed that NCSP has obtained outstanding achievements, and is a successful cooperation between Vietnamese enterprises and foreign investors.
Speaking on behalf of PV GAS Operator, PV GAS Deputy General Director Nguyen Thanh Nghi affirmed that, as both the Investor and the Operator of the project, PV GAS will continue to support NCSP to maintain international standards for the management of operation, safety and production. PV GAS believed that NCSP will continue to further promote the core values and cultural identity of its employees to overcome all difficulties and challenges, and conquer new achievements.
