PV GAS named among the leading 20 enterprises in Top 500 corporate income taxpayers in Vietnam

Following the instruction of leaders from Ministry of Finance to identify and publicize the list of 1,000 largest corporate income taxpayers in Vietnam, the General Department of Taxation has recently announced the V1000 list - 1,000 largest corporate income taxpayers in 2021. In the list, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) and Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) were among the Top 20 corporate income taxpayers.

Moreover, in the Top 500 corporate income taxpayers, there were also many other companies in the oil and gas industry, including: Russia-Vietnam Joint Venture Vietsovpetro (No.56); Branch Of Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation – Nam Con Son Pipeline Company NCSP (No.78); Petrovietnam Power Corporation – PV Power (No.106); Petrovietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation- PVFCCo (No.113); Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company - BSR (No.169); PVI Insurance Corporation (No.181); Petrovietnam Transportation Corporation - PVTrans (No.313); Petrovietnam Technical Services Corporation – PTSC (No.343); and Ca Mau Petroleum Fertilizer Joint Stock Company – PVCFC (No.456).

Petroleum General Distribution Services Joint Stock Company - PSD (No.614); Petroleum Transport Joint Stock Company - PVTrans Pacific (No.744); and Petrovietnam Power Nhon Trach 2 Joint Stock Company – NT2 (No.891) also were in the V1000 list.

According to the General Department of Taxation, the calculation of the ranking was basing on the corporate income tax contribution to the state budget in 2021. Enterprises with branches and affiliated units (issued a 13-digit tax code of affiliated units) included the total paid corporate income tax amount of the head office, their branches and affiliated units.

The presence of many oil and gas enterprises in the V1000 once again confirmed the industry’s important contribution to the country’s economic development. This was especially meaningful amid 2021 when the country especially all aspects of the life, society and economy was severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
