PV GAS Trading successfully receives the first refrigerated LPG ship at floating refrigerated LPG storage vessels in Northern region
The PetroVietnam Gas Trading Company (PVGas Trading)- the member of Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS)- on July 12 received successfully the first refrigerated LPG ship to floating refrigerated LPG storage vessels at the Hai Ha anchorage area’s site No.o2 in Thai Binh Province’s Die Dien town.
This is the important milestone, marking the continuous efforts of PV GAS and PVGAS Trading in ensuring LPG supply for Northern market and the national energy security. Finishing and putting the floating refrigerated LPG storage vessels into use in Northern region, PV GAS also one again affirmed its role as a pioneer in the gas industry.
Over last many years, the LPG supply for Northern market is dependent on the imported source from other countries. This supply could be interrupted in some moments.
The idea for trades with floating storage vessels is to prepare step-by-step to develop market, to create foundation for investment in mainland refrigerated LPG storage warehouses in Northern region which PV GAS has considered for last many years. That is also the project in line with PV GAS trade development strategy before and during 2020-2025 period.
Overcoming many difficulties especially ones caused by global Covid-19 pandemic, the project’s strict and complex requirements, the implementation has faced many challenges. However, with the determination of PVGAS Trading's leaders and staff, and the support of PV GAS Board of Directors, Viet Dragon 68 floating storage vessel has been put into use and received the first refrigerated LPG ship successfully.
Viet Dragon 68 with the load of 60,000 DWT (the capacity of more than 44,000 tonnes of refrigerated LPG) meets sufficiently the exploitation conditions, the requirements- criteria according to international laws and conventions as well as Viet Nam’s Government. The ship which PVGAS Trading has used to receive and store refrigerated LPG, and transported it to pressure vessels to regions, domestic and international markets.
On Juy 14, 1,700 tonnes of LPG which Cuu Long Gas ship transported from storage vessels was supplied to PVGAS Trading customers in Hai Phong city.
